Tucked into a landlocked plot in Amritsar, Utopia reimagines the second home as a vertical sanctuary. With limited access to light, the design turned skyward—using height, volume, and natural elements to shape a tranquil, connected space. A double-height foyer leads into a sunlit living room, where a swing and mezzanine overlook a lush vertical garden and open metal staircase, evoking a townhouse courtyard.

Rather than separate zones by floors, the design encourages visual and spatial interplay. The mezzanine space opens into the living space, which in turn connects to areas of rest, wellness, and recreation. This architectural rhythm blurs the boundaries between public and private, static and dynamic, indoors
and out.

The elevation presents a composed, almost understated face to the outside world. Clad in rhythmic geometry and restrained detailing, it conceals the spatial dynamism and lush inner life of the home. The façade serves as a calm veil — creating a sense of discovery as one steps inside to experience the contrast of openness and playfulness within.

At the heart of the home lies a dramatic vertical hanging garden, acting as both a design statement and a functional spine. It visually connects the gym, spa, party hall, and living spaces, while also refreshing the atmosphere. The presence of plants brings balance to the geometric interiors, softening the composition.
