Reimagining luxury retail as a balance of grandeur and intimacy through a palette of warm materials, traditional elements and sculpted thresholds.

The brief

Located in Ahmedabad, Mirwah is envisioned as a boutique retail destination that strikes a balance between opulence and refined restraint. The store’s spatial narrative weaves together luxury, tradition, and contemporary elegance, creating an environment where jewellery and artefacts are elevated as objects of art.

The layout unfolds through a sequence of curated zones—each space articulated with its own material identity while maintaining a coherent design language. The entry passage frames a sculptural bust set on a gilded plinth, immediately signalling grandeur. Beyond, arched thresholds lead to display galleries where handcrafted silverware, jewellery, and objects d’art are presented in glass-lined vitrives against a backdrop of muted wall finishes.

The interiors rely on a carefully selected palette of dark-stained wood, polished stone, and soft stucco-textured walls, offset by dramatic lighting. Bespoke chandeliers—from cascades of blue and crystal drops to layered golden halos—anchor each room and lend a distinct personality to the spaces. Furniture is crafted in deep tones with brass accents, while plush velvet seating in emerald green and ruby red infuses warmth and intimacy, especially within private consultation lounges.

The flooring alternates between black graphite marble with delicate veining and patterned rugs that soften the atmosphere. Archways and layered ceilings add rhythm, while spotlighting is meticulously designed to highlight the intricate detailing of the artefacts on display. Overall, Mirwah is more than a retail store; it is an immersive experience where architecture and interiors heighten the aura of craftsmanship, luxury, and heritage.
